Hey guys

Thanks to Telkom's <sarcasm> excellent </sarcasm> service I still don't have my ADSL line and have resorted to Vodacom 3G/HSDPA.

Ok, so I imagine that it's not the most ideal media to play games with but it's all I've got at the moment.

Does anyone know the average bandwidth useage per hour for the following games:

1.] Counter Strike Source
2.] Quake3
3.] C&C Generals
4.] C&C Tiberium Wars
5.] WAR3 Dota

Any help welcome.

Regards,

CSS 20 - 30 Mb/Hour
War3 & Quake 3 should use hardly any!
Not too sure on C&C though you could try a bandwith monitor just start it up before you play and after an hour check! :D

Here are a few *FREE*

played generals. 1hr 52 minutes and used a total of 12.5mb. thats not bad. q3 is quite heavy. about 30mb/hour. but a bit too laggy to play

Anybody have some ideas to decrease lag while playing Q3 over a VPN ? I have 384k ADSL and a buddy of mine connects to my vpn via 3G. We allready tried disabling compression and encryption - no luck. Avg pings still @ 170-220. Maybe my link is just too slow...... :(
