Many people report having their ADSL bandwidth stolen. Rumours abound that Telkom employees are handing out the usernames and passwords. I, too, had 2.8 Gig of my bandwith stolen 3 days after activating my account.

Instead of each of us going to SAPS alone just to get our ADSL logs out of Telkom, why don't we join forces? There must be some kind of collective legal action we can take against whoever stole our bandwith and whoever gave them our passwords?

To find out what kind of legal action one can take implies paying a lawyer to find out - but things like that become less daunting if it is no longer each one for himself.

Um, I was going to suggest the following a couple of days ago - then I got a Burst-i & forgot about it:

Create a collective complaint against Telkom via MyADSL but submit it to ICASA - what better way is there to get ICASA to squash Telkom's cap than to show that Telkom itself is incapable of properly implementing capping & bandwidth usage. Well something along those lines anyways...;)

There is a special internet crime devision of SAPS that handles this stuff very well I am told - best thing would be to go to your service provider and get them to handle it for you.

Unless Telkom is you service provider. Then you are running head first into a brick wall!

OT: Long time no see! Welcome back.

Karnaugh, do you know the name of the SAPS division that deals with Internet crimes?
