Im looking for a new bank account

Currently on Private Banking for R300 pm

Want something

Benefits im looking for are

Cheque
Unlimited electronic transactions
Dont need to ever see a branch
Good internet banking portal
Decent rewards system
Cheque card that allows for internet purchases

My FNB Gold account does this.

If you qualify for platinum, then go for that. You get a lot more for that extra 45. For me, the extra earning just from my savings pocket made it worth it

For me personally, I travel a lot. So the free global travel insurance when I book with my visa platinum cheque card , free access to the domestic slow lounges, access to the premier suite of bankers.

For others, nearly twice the interest paid on your savings pocket might actually pay for the difference in price.

There was an ebucks reason I upgraded also, don't remember.

After dealing with the premier bankers as opposed to the normal ones, I would say it was worth it for that alone. They tend to follow up on issues themselves and so you don't have to keep pestering
 
Investec if you can meet the criteria. Will easily match all of the previous posts (They issue nothing lower than platinum cards anyway). Service is good too...I've got my bankers personal cell#...and he answers at crazy hours (I tried...but avoid doing so).

They excel on service...but might fall short of your expectation of rewards.
 
In Currently with Standard Bank. whats the cost of investec as im sure i will qualify. I think FNB Platinum might be the one.
 
Investec is also around R300 a month. And I think the qualifying criteria is either an income of around R1m per anum or a net asset value of over R25m
 
Who uses cheques? They are rapidly going out of date. Have you looked at Capitec?
 
I was with investec, moved to FNB platinum, better rewards with ebucks and cheaper for same benefits. Also got an ipad.
 
If you are looking for status and reward programs, which you pay for in any case, then most options have already been mentioned.

If you are are however looking for a bare bones banking service that can deliver in all categories tied to convenient banking hours, should you need to go to a branch i.e. on a Sunday, then look no further than Capitec. Highest interest you will ever get from a bank and lowest fees by far.

Many look down their noses at Capitec but I guess if you have to have a platinum card then Capitec is not for you.

If I pay R135 and get more back in ebucks i see no use of using Capitec. Interest Rates dont matter as I am muslim and dont invest in interest bearing accounts
