Best bank rewards systems in South Africa

South Africa's banks provide multiple incentives to bank better and spend their money more efficiently, with some offering up to 50% off on international flights.

Completing or signing up for the incentives allows users to upgrade their rewards based on their reward level, which is determined by how well they bank.

The discovery rewards are incorrect. You can get up to 75% back at clicks, Dis-Chem, Picnpay, Woolworths on products

Also saw that - I guess this article just covers bank rewards not health/medical aid-linked.

Queue the eBucks clowns that have a big monthly spend going on about how many eBucks they get /oh wait...
You must be the ebucks clown king since you posted this thread:

I just cover my bank fees with the eBucks I get.

You have to balance rewards with the costs to operate the cards too. I've been phasing out my Discovery products one by one after I see my credit card for example scored me R1,500 rewards over 6 months, but the card cost me R900 for the same period in bank costs. That is really only R600 of rewards.

But also you have the satisfaction of knowing that when the Discovery data monkeys see your profile, they whistle in appreciation of your triple diamond status.

It’s a balancing act. You have to work out which ones you can use in parallel. And with discovery, you can’t look at it without including medical aid benefit too.
I’m a ebucks and discovery hamster and it’s making sense for my spending to date. But you have to keep on it, as rules evolve every year or sometimes more often.

I am purely a FNB hamster lol. I gladly pay R260 on premier. Spend R12000 on my credit card, and get R2000 back (with all my products). So its a win-win!

Currently standing on 1300 000 eB’s

You have R130k worth of eBucks....?

Used my Nedbank Amex rewards card now overseas for a few meals, some tickets etc - i like the way it’s just Rands.

Bleh Standard Bank Ucount Level 5
R10 back per litre on fuel
20% back on groceries

Free additional vouchers for achieving tasks per month. Etc

Amex is great for travelling not so much for points. Nedbank Rewards is probably the furthest behind.

Thing with Standard Bank is you can get all this on the Blue Card even, if you work it out correctly.

You can rank them by how many times their marketing materials uses the term "up to"
