Hi Mybb

Planning a trip to Japan this year and preparing my documents for the e-Visa application.

I bank with FNB and I cannot get my statements monthly, as far as I understand I need 3 months bank statements (transactional and savings account)

However I can get up to November but no December and the statements come in 3 month batches so how did anyone else do it , just don't want to do the wrong thing and have issues

Appreciate the replies

If you go to a branch you can print up to date statements to the day from the ATM and they are stamped used all these for my VISA applications zero issues.

In the Online Banking platform you can download "interim" statements right up to the current day:

Japan was not as strict as schengen with this. I think I just downloaded all via my app

That is what I planned to do but FNB told me my transactional account only gets quarterly statements so I cannot get December via the app

Not that it helps with your application but tymebank will email you up to 3 years worth of stamped statements. For older ones you need to call them.

Good luck on your trip to Japan, you really lucky.

You will need to go into the bank and ask for them to provide you the statements.

Most banking apps and online banking sites only go back a couple of months if not less in terms of providing actual paper work.

Go get them printed and bank stamped by the consultant.

Got my Japan visa yesterday. The latest available 3 months bank statements are sufficient. With Absa, you can specify the date range of e-stamped statements. It took 3 days to get the visa. I was worried because I keep almost nothing in my bank account, but they could see the salary deposits. Great news is Japan is 50% cheaper than when I went 8 years ago :)

Wish I used tymebank for my main account,

Appreciate it thanks so much

Unfortunately mine stops in November with FNB, my savings account gets monthly statements but not my transactional.

That sounds good the yen has been weakening fast. Mind if I PM you , planning for the visa at the moment and would not mind some insight.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Check on the website not through the app.
