The new Nook Tablet was released recently.

Pretty nice right? Problem for me is that it's more of an interactive e-reader than a tablet at the moment. Sure, you can install another launcher to make it kind-of android like but that's not what a tablet should be like.
But, as all things eventually do, they get hacked.
The devs over at xda-developers have already rooted and loaded Android market onto it. Unfortunately the bootloader is locked and signed for the time being. This means that until it gets unlocked there is virtually no way to run custom ROMs on it.
So basically if they find a way to unlock the bootloader you would be able to intall CyanogenMod on it like it's smaller brother (the Nook Color) has.
Pretty cool ne? I'm keeping my eyes on this one. A high powered tablet running a custom ROM for a fraction of the price as other tablets with the same specs would be pretty awesome
