I wanted to share my recent experience with Bash, a subsidiary of The Foschini Group, and warn others who might be considering shopping with them. What should have been a simple online purchase turned into an absolute nightmare of delays, cancellations, and frustration.

The Timeline of Frustration

  • 26 November 2024: I placed an order for a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam X 860v14 Running Shoes. They were listed as "in stock," so I expected no issues.
  • 2 Weeks of Delays: The courier (RAM) made multiple failed attempts to collect the item due to excuses like “vehicle full” or “store not ready to hand over the parcel.” Still receiving emails to rate my order and updates on how the delivery is progressing, although it was cancelled.
  • 3 December 2024: Without any prior communication, Bash canceled my order entirely.
  • Still Listed as Available: The shoes are STILL shown as “in stock” on their website, misleading other customers.

Customer Service – Nonexistent

Bash’s customer support has been a complete letdown:

  • Repeated escalations yielded vague, scripted responses.
  • No alternatives or solutions were offered.
  • I’m STILL waiting for my refund weeks later.
It’s not just me. Platforms like Hellopeter and social media are flooded with complaints about Bash’s poor service, delivery failures, and substandard products (including tester items being sold as new).

My Takeaway

If you’re considering shopping with Bash, my advice is: don’t. There are far better alternatives like Takealot or Superbalist, which prioritize customer care and deliver on their promises.

I’ll be avoiding Bash from now on, and I hope they take these issues seriously before losing more customers.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Bash? How did you deal with it?

Let’s hold them accountable for this poor service!

Still waiting on any kind of response to my query after receiving a damaged box.

Fortunately the goods inside were only dented slightly at the back which is out of sight, but I can just imagine the trauma I would need to go through if it wasn’t in a state I was willing to accept.

26 November, then "Weeks of delays", then 3 December. legit complaint

Look I know you thought that "I am going to show them" with my email boycott and social media exposure. BUT.
Nobody care, even less them.

I called it, starts with a kak name amd ends with kak service, (only 1 person, but a prediction is a prediction).
