Hi everybody

I've had a request here at work to investigate some speaker options for 2 of our classrooms. They want to play back MP3 files I've created from old audio cassette tapes that have listening exams on them and so on.

Normally I would just get a cheap Genius set, which is usually more than loud and clear enough.

However, here comes the twist: this teacher is more or less adamant that the speakers should be fixed in the classrooms, either to the desk, or mounted on the walls.

Now, I know some normal hi-fi speakers can be mounted, as they usually come with hooks at the back that you can hang from the wall. I've never seen this on computer speakers though. I don't want to get exotic and spend a fortune, really all we need is basic speakers. So that rules out amplifiers and so on.

Also, computer speakers generally come powered and with a set cable length. I can already see issues with wall mounting, unless it's really close to the desk. How could I fix it permanently to the desk? Double sided tape won't last, and using hot glue seems a tad extreme, not to mention that the glue I have isn't super strong.

Is there anything you guys can point me in the direction of?

Many thanks :)

I would suggest a 2.1 set most come with mountable speakers and the amp is in the sub so you can extend the cables. Otherwise get a cheap second hand HiFi with an aux input.
