Hi, I just need a basic DSL modem with an Ethernet port, and basic port forwarding that I can connect to my existing router + wifi router.
Will this work?

TP-Link TD-8816

I like that it mentions lightning protection, I guess something is better than nothing.

My current DGN1000 N150 Netgear is constantly restarting, possibly because it's overheating. I have a fan on it constantly, when fan goes off for a few min, it is guaranteed to freeze and restart.

I hope this one doesn't have an overheating issue...

That will work a treat. Before you hit the Buy button though, how old is your Netgear? Some of their products carry 2-3 year warranties. Duxbury in Riviera can do a warranty lookout for you to confirm. PM me if you want an email address.

Thanks, its new, 6 months or so. (only worked in winter, it seems)

I will do the warranty thing when I get this new modem, and keep the netgear as a spare
