Best way to clean up / eliminate bathroom roof mould?

In b4, open a window. There's just an extraction fan. I use an air dehumidifier, but alas every few months the mould is back. What methods do you use to rid your roofs of mould?

Last time I used 1 part bleach along with 1 part water. About 500ml bleach from checkers, 500ml water. I then dabbed a soft sponge into the solution and rubbed lightly over the mould. That seems to work, just wondering if there are perhaps better, faster methods?

Had a massive mould issue, returning every 2 months-3 months. Regardless of window open or dehumidifier.

I also repainted(scrap off old paint surface the contractor normal does) and issue returned after 6months. I got fed up and started to investigate why, It turns out the paint, behind the paint behind the paint was the issue. Removed the old ceiling board(by light) and put a new board, removed all the old paint, scrap off little of the surface, plaster it, put primer plaster and painted with Bathroom Paint. I applied 2 coat, waited a week and applied another 2 coats. No issues for 10 month, not a mould in sight, no dehumidifier just open window Morning and close evening.

And also spray it when you are not going to use that room. It is quite a strong smell that stays for a while.
Thanks, will do.

When you have cleaned the mould, highly recommend painting with an antimicrobial paint to aid in prevent mould from coming back..

They are available in pretty much any hardware store worth their salt..
Thanks, definitely on my to-do list.

That's a lot of work, not sure if I am willing to do that for a rental apartment :P but as per above an antimicrobial paint is definitely on my medium-term to-do list.

I use vinegar for cleaning the mould off. The acid in the vinegar inhibits mould growth.
Thanks, tried this, but the bleach worked slightly better and faster.

use bleach for cleaning if that works for you, but once you are done cleaning, I would strongly suggest you spray vinegar on that surface and let it dry.

There’s tons of sanitizer sprays around now. Used it on the taps and the mould and grime has gone. Looks like it’s gone for good. Touch wood.

Yah that Mould Buster from Builders does the job.

I do the bathroom ever 3-4months when it’s just a spec. Don’t leave it on stainless steal .. it will etch it.
