Batman Arkham City Steam backup

Hi Guys

I bought Batman Arkham City on steam during the xmas specials but I don't have the bandwidth to download the steam files. Also Web Africa's freezone doesn't seem to have it cached :cry:

Can anyone out there please do a steam backup of the game on disc/stick for me? I'm willing to drive, pay, bribe or heaven for bid visit the post office :D

If you have a webafrica account why don't you download it in the Download Plus time between 12 at night and 6 in the morning? I get 100GB free during those times per month.

Thank the Lord for uncapped! I bought the same xmas special and it took me 5 freakin days to download the 16GB (!!) game. Anyhoo, I'm a noob at this but how does the steam backup thing work? Is it legal if you want to do it the way you requested? I don't know - just asking. Where do you live? How much do you think the effort of getting this is worth :D

Tell me more? I have a WA account I don't know how this download plus works? It it only on certain accounts? I have pre-paid
Oh and btw I will be getting WA uncapped next month.

Its completely legal the backup won't restore on my PC at all if I haven't purchased the game, its a steam backup after all and steam checks my steam account.
To do the backup you just go to steam and click file menu(or whatever is first at the top) and select backup. Or right click on the game and say backup. I think it can split it on Dvd's as well.
I'm willing to pay anything less than buying the cheapest bandwidth or download plus or whatever to download it, I'm willing to drive, I'm willing to pay in beer...

Not ideal for Steam use thanks to their thresholds.

Oh btw, I installed the game yesterday after its lengthy download time and as soon as you get to the main menu and press START (on your gamepad if you have one) or click on START, the Games for Windows LIVE console pops up where you have to sign into of course, in order to save, get achievements etc. Once I did that it prompted me to download an update for the GFWL. It time and time again said that it "have problems" downloading the update, which meant that I couldn't save my progress because I couldn't login. Anybody else who recently bought the game got the same problem? I did manage to find a way around it eventually after Googling. Just thought I'd ask.

Ah crap. I thought they removed that vile piece of crap in this one. I had the same problem with Arkham Asylum, and Fallout 3. Arkham City is downloading, still 8GB left so it should be finished sometime tonight.

For AA I managed to create an offline profile by disconnecting my internet so it couldn't see there's an update. Not sure if you can still create an offline profile...

What really pisses me off though is that people who pirated the game don't have to deal with that crap. :mad:

You still can. You probably know this already, but at the Games for Windows LIVE console just click on CREATE NEW PROFILE. Scroll down to the link where you see CREATE LOCAL PROFILE. Enter any name you want. Click SUBMIT and DONE and you're done.

So is that what you did, used an offline profile? Or did you find another way around it?

Thx man, so like these things go. After I install the game steam wants to update the game with a 4Gig update! :cry:
So I just ordered uncapped online from WA :erm:

O well, atleast I dont have to download 16Gigs again!!!
