Long time no post!

Would appreciate some suggestions >> iPhone 12 with 99% battery health, has been seeing some strange battery issues since the weekend.
Leaving it on my (admittedly weak/slow) Anker Qi-charging base, is still seeing a gradual drop in battery percentage. Off the charger, I was at 40% before lunch – this with normal use.

I can only assume that it must be related to one or other app update I did over the weekend. Updated the iOS this morning, btw – so not related (battery was running down from Sunday already).

Any ideas on what I could look to do to narrow down/identify the culprit?
BTW – hard reset/reboot seems to do the trick for a while... So presumably it works until I launch whatever is causing the issue again – and then all bets are off...

FNB customer?

Do Apples not have something that shows what used the battery?
I am with FNB? Have there been issues?

It does – but nothing too out of the ordinary, from what I can work out. As in, the apps listed at the top, appear to be aligned with how I used them today. Not too much going on in terms of background activitiy – with the exception of WhatsApp [ ], but that's always the case...

My CAT S60 didn't like the fact that I had to have location services on (a more recent FNB app feature) to do stuff with it, if I forgot to switch the location service off again after using the app, my battery would drain super fast.

5G drains battery hella fast, go to settings and change “voice & data” to 4G … made a massive difference with my 12pro.

Just check the battery settings

To see an overview of your battery level and activity for the last 24 hours and up to the last 10 days, go to Settings > Battery. When you tap one of the columns on your screen, you can see which apps contributed to your battery usage during that time period, and the proportion of battery used for the app

Thanks all. Bizarrely, seems to have righted itself over night?

Been using it as per normal since just after 06:00, and still on 100%. This time yesterday and Monday, was heading towards the low 80%… Will monitor over the course of the day, and try and be conscious of what apps are used, should a quick drop develop again.

Just bear in mind, if it is a 5G issue, then you won't see any particular app draining the battery excessively in the settings app. I just keep it on 4G and my battery performs better than expected, still at 40% or so by 22:00, with heavy use. If I leave 5G on auto or on, phone is dead by 17:00.

Turned off 5G, and will see. Down to 74% now – and haven't been using it much, so maybe I spoke to soon. Very odd.
