Please tell us this will be commercialized soon.

The new chev cars and Telsa EV would now run twice the distance as a petrol car, on one charge only.

my laptop only lasts 2 hours max

This is what everyone and the worlds economy, tech, industries and auto sectors needs right now, better battery life.

why take so long to commercialize better batteries?

I'll believe it when I see it. I've ran across countless claims of revolutionary new batteries being "just around the corner" including stuff like nanotube cells etc. but I don't think I've seen any significant technical advance in battery technology during the last decade.

Be that as it may, I'll be the first to celebrate when someone actually comes up with a quantum leap in battery tech.

I don't think there was a demand for cars powered by batteries in the past, but with all the environmentally aware people out there, i think a good quality battery car would take the wrold by storm and lessen our dependancy on fossil fuels.

There were more electric cars than cars with ICE in the world early in the previous century. It was the lack of progress in battery technology that killed the electric car. The demand has always been there.

Also, a battery is not a energy source. It is merely a storage device.
