Battery lifetime question

So the original battery my car came with lasted 7-8 years & about 56k kms. I replaced it in 2021 & now the new battery is giving me problems after just 3 years & about 18k kms.

Is this just to be expected for buying a cheaper battery? How much longer/further can I expect a more expensive battery to last?

Cars which are imported from Europe come with batteries which last 7 to 8 years. Any local replacement will not last more than 3 years in my experience.

Buy an Atlas or Duracell next ,should last at least 5 years ,Enertec as well .in SA you're lucky to still have your car in your possession after 5 years .
