I have an IPhone 4. The battery used to last for two or three days, depending on usage. Now it lasts for less than a day.

The additional problem that I'm experiencing, is that the percentage meter which is displayed, doesn't match the actually battery charge. What happens is that when the percentage reaches 25%, the phone just switches off as if the battery has been depleted.

If I connect it via USB to charge, it reboots about 20 times before there is enough charge to switch on the phone permanently.

So, it would seem that there is a problem with the callibration of the battery so something along those lines.

Has anyone else experienced this problem & more importantly, if so, do you have a solution?!?

Hmm that's weird. Haven't experienced or heard of anything like that before. But what I would try it a General > Reset > Reset All Settings and see if that does anything. It could be a damaged/caput/old battery too..

Then try and do a complete discharge and full charge.

Thanks, starting to think that there is something wrong with the battery...Yesterday, it went from 100% in the morning to dead overnight...Needless to say my alarm never went off & I overslept this morning...So, me thinks that zee battery is kaputted & will have to make a plan to have it replaced...

Problem has eventually been solved by allowing the phone to run flat & performing a full charge on AC power. I've found that if I charge the phone using USB, it simply doesn't last as long as when the charge is done via a power outlet. Even though the battery percentage reads 100% after a USB charge it is as though the 100% isn't really 100%. My battery lasts just over 3 days now and doesn't just switch off @ 25% or 30%.
