I pre-ordered BFME2 from BT games, I just recieved an email from them saying that EA {South Africa} had contacted them saying

"We have just been notified by Electronic Arts SA that this title will not grace our shelves until Mid April. As soon as we receive a new ETA date we will notify you"

Has anyone preordered this game from another company like "Kalahari" or "Take 2" & recieved anything like this as of yet

the game is to be out in the US and EU by this weekend. Perhaps due to distribution issues it got delayed in SA but not by that extent.

if i were you i would download the patch whilst waiting for the game.

Got a long wait if it takes that long might even be another patch by that time, it was supposed 2 be here by the 9th of this month, so I really dont see how it can be delayed that long (more than a month). It was released today in North America.............

Download the game seeing as you've paid for it already then delete it when your real one arrives. I see nothing wrong with that...

O Well Suppose, No Online Play

Just might have 2 do that, the thought crossed my mind

Got this message @ 4:30 4rm BT Games

"Special Announcements

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED EA GAMES SLIP TO NEXT MONTH

Due to unforeseen circumstances the following games have slipped to April. Please take note of new expected times of arrival.

The Sims 2: Open for Business 05 April 2006

Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth II +- 14 April 2006"

Geez, that really sux. Ive really been looking forward to this game. I havent pre ordered it from anywhere yet because I want to see who gets it first. Im playing quite a lot of skirmish games of BFME1 to get in the mood for BFME2.

Cant wait!! :)

Some News

Well I called afew places Kalahari said they would get back to me & it was news to the women I spoke 2. Digital Planet had more information, they told me & confirmed what I've heard so far basically I was told that they are having server problems (EA) , supposedly they can't keep up with the information being recieved & sent for online play so they have posponed the release until they have sorted out the servers. Hoping it's soon, that is why I reckon the online stores haven't updated their sites as they have no idea of when it can be released. So the games may be sitting @ the locations however they won't be released  until........

Apparently this is happening alot lately so I'm told

at least by the time BFME2 is out in SA there should be patches to sort out the niggles in the game, the current patch doesnt sort everything out... sigh...

news update from BT Games :

"LORD OF THE RINGS BATTLE FOR MIDDLE EARTH II ARRIVING EARLY NEXT WEEK

We are pleased to announce that Electronic Arts South Africa has managed to secure stock on Lord of the Rings Battle For Middle Earth II and it will launch early next week in South Africa."

So there, download the patches now so you can be ready for it next week. :p

Yup, cool stuff :)

Whats the latest patch and where's the best place to download it? or should I stop being lazy and just google it? ;)

Iv'e been jamming BFME 2 for about two weeks now, one awesome game.

Well worth the purchase when it gets released :D

Sorry for the stupid question but it looks like the latest patch is v1.03, so I presume it includes everything from v1.01? Just wondering cos from the link:
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/258
it doesn't list the things that v1.01 has but I suppose thats a given?

most latest patches supplement previous versions, so i assume that the 1.03 will run from a vanilla setup UNLESS it mentions within the filename an example as :

1.01-1.03_patch

how big is it?

its 25mb. The first patch is about 12mb i think. So I presume the second one contains everything. Its just that the list of stuff that v1.03 contains is huge but on that link I provided it doesnt seem to list the stuff from the first patch.

Well, ive downloaded it anyway

cool. i will wait to see if a patch will be out to sort out the multiplayer aspects of the game... only then will i think of getting it, too many cons based on their first game i have. ;)

AFAIK there are multiplayer balance issues with heroes being able to wipeout entire armies with ease, stability issues, utter game slowdown during multiplayer matches with 4 people and the usual boring solo campaign which is saved by the risk style gameplay approach.

2 more patches

Ya, I read bout those problems with the heros it not affecting everyone just the people who don't know how to deal with it & the out of sync issues are getting fixed.
Solo gameplay is just a standard, I couldnt really care bout that......

Read bout the next 2 patches coming out
