Battle.net authenticator for Iphone broken after reset problem

Hi Guys

I currently use this authentictor on my LG cell phone and it works pretty well

I am getting a Iphone 3Gs soon and I have read a few posts that if the Iphone crashes is hard reset the authenticator will stop working has anyone had this issue

Its my first Iphone so I don't really know it that well do they crash often if you backup the phone on Itunes and restore it after a crash won't this stop the Authenticator from breaking?

Write down your authenticator serial number before you do anything. If something happens thats the only way to remove the authenticator from your account. You can find this code in "SETUP".

Just make sure you back up the iphone to iTunes regularly. If there is a problem, restore and it should keep the existing authenticator key. If you reinstall the firmware on the iphone, or reinstall the app it will get a new key and you will need to ask Blizzard to remove the old authenticator from your account before you can log in again (took me around 4 days). Safest is just if you are going to be upgrading the phone firmware, remove authenticator from your account and re-add afterwards.

You Would need this when you contact billing support I wanted to avoid this though have you had any issues with your Iphone authenticator?

And this is why I think the actual authenticator works better + you only have to type 6 numbers instead of 8 so you can log in 0.1 second faster!

Yup. The iPhone can be a bit sluggish to open the app, and if yuo have a passcode you need to unlock it first etc. The normal authenticator is a better idea, if you dont mind carrying it around everywhere if you play from multiple places.
