Mad it must be more to SGS? Coz AFAIK MWEB is based in capetown..

rustic, perhaps if you get an antenna to try stabalise the signal?

*edit.. fifth-hundred post, Hooray :D

I've never seem my UTD with less than 5 led's, isn't that an indication of good signal? using it with an ethernet cable, unfortunately no signal at my pc. Would using it through windows internet sharing make a diff?

I get download speeds of about an average of 60k.

Is uunet the better option?

I was quite surprised that the ping was that high actually, perhaps someone on the WAN was browsing or receiving mail.

Go over to this page and scroll down the the bottom where it says WDSL256. Even the 64k package has great pings.. my CS pings to MWeb are 20-30 so no complaints at all :D

Uninet is probably the one wireless company who's getting things right.. thats what's got telskom so darn worried.

Hi mad,

have tried playing online? Something like battlefield 2?

'course, cant let a good ping go to waste :) i play Counterstrike almost every night, and while getting my ass kicked the ping is always under 30 to Mweb and under 50 to SGS. Will try BF2 demo, downloaded it just need to install.

I'm on Iburst too and gaming works just fine for me- play CS:S.
Played BF2 online last night or 2 nights ago and worked perfectly :-)

I got kicked off the saix battlefield2 server because of exxesive team killing! How could this be I only killed 1 guy and he ran onto my bomb, suxx

It was probably some poor cs sod. They seem to want to justify themselves for being a retard by pushing the PAGE DOWN button.

Dont know if anyone is interested but the SGS BF2 forums can be found here

is SAIX down battlefied 2 server down? (sunday 19th June 11:30 am)

Yip - it has been confirmed on the SGS forums. Elyzium (the head admin of SGS and *apparently* the only guys who works for Telscum there) seems to always have to work on week-ends.

Poor guy.

the mweb 1 is up and running @ 196.2.45.11
quite empty tho

Yip, I don't know why but mostly the SGS are always full why the Mweb is always empty (this I've seen in BF1942 and CSS)

Well the latency on Mweb is bad. And not many people know about the server. Someone posted the sever adress on SGS now so maybe it will pick up. Also I wonder if the 12min timelimit is on the Mweb server?

I see ASE has updated their filters and now list BF2 servers.

20 peeps on Gamezone atm. I think the pings are higher (for most) is because its based in Cape Town. Obviously its a bonus for peeps in Slaapstad... :)

Indeed Razer0....I am glad ASE is supporting bf2 now at least one can see how many players is on and who is on. Pity that you cant connect directly to the sever through ASE as you first have to authenticate your account with Gamespy
