yup, here you cant do jack. cept play on local servers

its sad that even WOW and Guild Wars is now obsolete. Only the very rich and very spoilt can afford to waste money on an unshaped account. bastids. Please dont kill BF2
 
i play games on my ps2 over ADSL to internationl servers, the lag difference is much less noticable with ps2 games, don't ask me why, but with ps2 u can actually play on overseas servers!
 
ok, so then MAKE telkom do the same for overseas BF2 servers, thank you kindly Mr White and Vapi. Tit for tat i always say. If Telkom can screw us then surely we must be allowed to screw back...
 
Bear with me here please: I am left handed (mouse in left hand), and thus use the numeric keypad as the keys to control myself around in all games (forwards, backwards, strafe) plus use the keys around the numeric keypad for everything else (reload, use, crouch, crawl) etc.

Now for the life of me, I cannot get BF2 to accept keypad2, keypad8, keypad4 or keypad6!!! It allows the other keypad numbers, but just not these ones. It states that there is a conflict with the common keys, but I cannot for the life of me find where this conflict is!!! I *AM* trying to setup the commond keys you stupid bastard of a program. What... the... fekk...

Am I missing something glaringly obvious here?

i know you probably dont want to hear this, but have you tried using the WADS? i always try to play with default keys as much as possible, because then i can migrate from pc to pc and still be able to play within seconds...

if mouse is in your left hand you could shift the keyboard slightly and use WADS, or is this uncomfortable?

i think the rebinding of keys is something that will be addressed in the 1.03 patch. lets hope this sorts out your problem, but until then i think its gonna be tough rebinding those keys...
 
Use the WADS keys? Are you insane? I've been using the keypad my entire life for these games. Oh well, keypad2, keypad4, keypad6 and keypad8 aren't *THAT* important... they're only forward, backwards, strafe left and strafe right... I think I don't really need them... ;)

I guess I'll have to use the WADS (or similar) until a patch comes out that addresses this MAJOR flaw, this left-wing conspiracy, this blatant attempt to handicap the naturally more talented left-handed gamer!!! :D

Until then people: I'll be the muppet standing still on the front lines...

Please, someone tell me how to get these keys to work.
 
Nutter, you can delete the line on which the keypad 6,4 etc etc are. Look for it in your profiles file. ie C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

Right click controls.con and search for the line that keypad2 and such are binded. When you find it, delete the whole line.

PS. Make a backup of the file before you edit it, just in case ;)

When you're finished deleting the lines, you should be able to bind the keys ingame
 
Yes!!! Thanks dude. Problem sorted! I actually did look for the profile where the bindings are stored... in the BF2 directory, not the smegging D:\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002, what a *** place to put it.

Mines

I wish people would look where they are driving. I was an engineer and I put down some mines, and my teammates kept driving over them. I had a -9 score at one stage! We lost the round, but I wonder if we had won would my end sore be -18 (x2)? Anyway, despite it's... quirks it is still a brilliantly addictive game! :)
 
Ah you never seem to dissapoint nrg. Now I know what ya'll are going to say"serve you chopper ***** right" it's tru last night I was chucking out mines from the chopper @ a flag with a full chopper when the pilot decides to land at the flag. Needless to say the chopper exploded with all six of my squad teamies going up in flames needless to say I got ptk by all :D

The X2 multiplier only applies to a COMMANDER of the winning team, it doesnt apply to all the members of the winning team.
 
its x2 for everyone if we win

bfhq gets x2
the comm gets double points

but if i score 60 and we win on bfhq i get 120
 
nope. cant be... last night my team won a couple of times and i got the score i saw in the final screen... AFAIK its only the commander who gets x2... i will google this as it is quite interesting to find out what is right...

EDIT : Its only the commander who gets his score x2 if the team wins. Just checked it in the Offical Prima Guide for BF2. Thats why the commander's score is separate on the stats screen with a x2 next to it, and all other players have the standard score screen.

that would also explain why my scores are still so low :) if i got a x2 multiplier each time my team won i wouldnt have sucked so bad! who am i? i'm the cannon fodder trying to take out the armour... 3 deaths for each tank owned (mostly)
 
whats your online nick eye_suc? i tried finding you in the stats but "eye_suc" doesnt come up with matches....

EDIT : no worries.. found you... 1242 for 18 hours of play time... cool! what weapon did you unlock? the DAO-12?

Stats a bit odd

OK, well that's interesting about the commander getting the x2. I found that the BFHQ stats seem a little off. I checked my stats a few days ago and it said that I was about half way to corporal. Now, when I check it, its about an eighth of the way. Before that, I kept getting promoted to Lance Corporal as it seemed to forget that i was already promoted. When I went to BFHQ it told me that my current rank is "-" and the next rank is private! I had to laugh... But the next day it seemed to remember and I was finally permanently promoted. Wierd... :confused:
 
there are lots of issues with stats within the BFHQ... seems EA released BF2 a tad too early and needs a patch to fix all the outstanding issues... regardless of which the game still rocks!
