When I logged on to origin before installing from disks, I got a message that said that Origin is experiencing problems with their game activation servers. I managed to get the game installed though. Not sure if this problem might be related to yours as well.

lol sounds like your internet is wonky.

unable to launch please make sure the game is installed properly and try again .

Yeah, I was thinking that maybe it's more than just their activations servers going haywire now.
had the same issue, i just kept at it.
Eventually it sorted itself out. Just waiting on the blerry patch to install.

well I just tried to launch mine and it also gave me the "Cannot Launch BF3. Make sure it's installed" blah blah blah, but I still got in and joined a server.

Crud, I'm also getting that error now. Installed fine, downloaded and installed patch fine, country release date check fine, then the 2nd activation - fail. Now I just get the error that my game is not properly installed.

I did a quick search and it seems there is a lot of people with this problem. And it seems to have started like 2 days ago already, so I doubt it's a server problem. I will play around a bit and get back to you all.

Ok, sort of solution found: Spam the living daylight out of the launch button. I kept on trying and my BattleLog is now open. Although, it does have the following message at the top:
