Battlefield 3

I just want to ask how many peeps here are effected by LAG on the majority of the servers? I often have a ping of 15 (Admittedly I am on wireless) - but there have been some nights where I have had no problems whatsoever, but lately its become impossible to play. Especially on the SGS servers.
I tried iGame, WAGE, SGS to name a few and all were painful.

Trouble with wireless is packet loss, while your ping may good you could have 25-50% packet loss. Wireless is not good for gaming so you either need to boost the signal or get adsl.

www.pingtest.net, that will test your line and give you a quality feed back.
 
Yeah I know the latency is crap but it was a lot better about a week or 2 ago. Just lately its gone downhill, I was looking on the EA forums and quite a lot of people were moaning about an update that went out and now they are also having issues with rubberbanding and lag etc - I just wanted to know if BF3 is a laggy'er compared to normal as of late?

Nope if anything i barely notice lag anymore. Rig used to be laggy, no longer, cityzen was laggy but no longer.

it's gotten better actually.
 
I've seen plenty intl players these days (with pings +350), normally they join to do something 'frowned upon' like baseraping then leave.

And in the process cause significant lag, etc

Whats the deal with in game comms? Is everyone on Teamspeak?

I played co-op with a friend and it worked fine but when we joined a regular MP map the voice party thing didnt really work

Use it all the time, never had an issue... if by in-game comms you mean battlelog chat
 
Um, I might be doing it wrong? On the BF3 home screen I usually make a party and then click the join voice button. Is there a different one for MP play??

Yeah thats the way to do it... it has no idea what game mode your playing though so it shouldn't be a problem in MP, even if you close your browser you should still stay in voice chat.
 
We use TS and it works great

Did you guys take advantage of the double xp weekend?

Had some crazy scores. Think one was 132 000 ponts in 1 round :D

Had so much fun on a local server. Think it was RIG Urban Warfare. Insane amount of action and had some great players.

OK cool I'll try again. Is that just people in your party or can you talk to squadmates like in BF2?
 
Does anyone have problems with Origin not connecting? Having endless problems since the weekend
