Battlefield 4 Premium announced

Money, Money, Money....

Where have the days gone where things were simple like in BF2, you could buy the expansions if you wanted to and you wouldn't have any competitive advantage in the base game, other than the G36E - from special forces

What a surprise. I'm willing to bet it includes coercive features such as higher queue priority which makes it a mission to get on servers if you choose not to buy Premium.

Haha, fukk that ****. After so many people complained that the server queue priority was a crock of shjt they do it again? No thanks. I'll stick with games from developers who don't treat their customers like walking wallets.

Remember how it happened with COD and then the BF guys said they'd never do it? Well they started with BF3.

Haha, yeah, I remember before release the BF3 devs had this childish marketing campaign where they were constantly smack-talking CoD and Activision, then suddenly when BF3 is out the door they tell us that CoD actually has a good business model.

It's not as if your not getting anything with premium:
-New Maps
-New Weapons
-New Tags
-New Challenges

XP bonus & queue skipping is just a reward, the whole idea of the premium in BF is o expand your experience with the game, out of all the season pass options in games I am most impressed with BF & of course Bordelands.
If it wasn't for that the game would have become stale a long time ago, but then again you still get guys only playing Metro.

At least you don't have to purchase premium to play the game, it just makes it more fun.

BF3 killed the line for me. This time I am not rushing to the store to buy the latest version

At least you don't have to purchase premium to play the game,

You actually kind of do. If you want to get into highly populated servers in a timely fashion, good luck when you don't have Premium. I tried playing the other night and wanted to join a full Metro server. 15 minutes later and I was still not in because everyone who has Premium can just skip the queue and push me back. If you can't see why that's bull**** then maybe you're the reason EA milks the hell out of their customers.

No thanks. As I said, I'll stick to games whose developers don't treat me with derision because I don't want to spend even more money on top of the R400 I've already paid.

Hopefully with BF4 they will implement the queue system so that the premium users get an advantage but not simply pushed to the front of the queue as with BF3.

I think it's pretty cool, and prolongs the life of the game, nothing worse than when DLC gets released and you're the only guy playing on the DLC servers. usually gets exponentially worse per release DLC.

Definitely worth the money for the maps alone IMO.

Did you just put Borderlands and BF3 in the same line?

The games are nothing alike, in Borderlands you get access to all the weapons and what not that comes with the DLC, just not the actual map/quest, even better you can still trade the weapons with people that do not have it.

I do agree that Season pass ala Borderlands is great for extending the life of RPG's, but you know what makes FPS multiplayer shoot em up last... community maps and Mods. Back in the Joint operations/Tribes 2 days we could play games for years without the need to get new content from developers because mods kept the game alive. But EA can not dip their hands into mods for some extra cash so I guess we can just dream.

TL;DR RPG, bring on the Season Pass. FPS, give bloody Map editors and modding.

Compared them due to the quality you get in after release, so far only BF & BL have had the most consistent & entertaining DLC.
If compared to COD I & a few of my friends only purchased up to DLC 2 on both MW3 & BOPS2 before loosing interest. Most of our clan mates playing BF have purchased Premium, I think only one guy moans about waiting in the queue.

There is a difference between taking money & giving value for your money. ATM Dice just offers more with their Premium packages, its not like your buying Premium just to skip queues, its a by-product of getting the "whole" package.

As with the mod tools I don't really see any mainstream publisher giving you the ability to alter their games anymore, they just want to protect their investment & prevent any loss of future revenue, that's why we will always see an annual release of COD & perhaps BF too. That has just evolved to season passes as well. Its a way of ensuring an injection of cash after the product was released.

Saying that it all comes down to what kind of DLC gets released & that is where BF & BL comes into play again out of all the games I own they have payed for the self over & over due to enjoyable DLC.

Once again, for many people it actually is just that. EA coerces people into buying Premium because it ****ing sucks to sit and wait in a queue and watch your position go backwards. It's a coercive tactic to get people to buy Premium, because the more people who buy Premium, the worse the situation gets for non-Premium players.

It's actually pretty smart. Give players who spend more money advantages that actively disadvantage those who don't, thereby increasing the chances that people shell out for Premium simply to ensure they can continue playing a game they've already paid for, unhindered. It's diabolical, but smart regardless.

I think this explains My problems with EA DLC's more:

So I got this BF4prem thing and it says "We've billed you for your order but some items may not have been delivered yet.", when I look in "my games" I don't see it. Is this normal?

Not surprising that an Mweb representative who condones ****ty business practices from ISPs also condones ****ty business practices from EA.

If I were poor I wouldn't be playing games in the first place. I can pretty easily afford to buy Premium. I just have more sense than to buy something that is so obviously franchise milkage.

I'll be getting premium so I can skip the queue past zewp. Lols ...
