Good day
My son plays BF5 on his PC. Intel I5, 16 gig memory with RTX 2060 card. Internet is 6 meg wifi line to home.
Why is it that his pings is the highest in the servers, around 180 to 250, where other players are 30 to 70.
We scanned the HDD, updated Nvidia drivers, deleted games, he has about 400 gig open on HDD.
I contacted the internet provider and asked if they can perhaps see that settings are okay between us and there server, they confirmed all in order
What else can I do to assist my son in having a good play experience?
PS: Perhaps a SSD??

Thank you
Chris

Well you need to search for South African servers first. There are usually servers with players on weekends.

Avoid EU servers because those will be 180ms+ ping.

Latency or ping is the time the connection takes between your pc and the server and back. If the server is in Europe West then 180ms is not too bad. If the server is in South Africa then sub 80ms should be good depending on your location and internet connection adsl, wireless, LTE or fibre. If you are on adsl interleaved mode and anywhere south of Durban then yeah 80ms or so likely.
