Hi guys, how active are the servers on battlefield games? Will I be able to find games on Multiplayer locally?


Currently playing COD BO6 but not enjoying it at all, players are on special steroids on this game you die as soon as you spawn most of the time.
 
Last time I played any Battlefield, 2042 was consistently populated on local servers

Battlefield 4 still has a dedicated playerbase, but depends on the day and the time

Never played V so not sure

All others are dead

Battlefield at over 100 ping is unplayable

Tried Battlefield 1 and it was torture

Constantly dying while on my screen I haven't even turned a corner yet

Disagree, it's probably at <200ms with most important being stable.
That said, lower ping is better due to reaction time.

BF4 might still have some custom local servers, though think it might be that most play Europe nowadays. You'll be playing against only the most dedicated players still, so if you're just average, can be annoying. You'll probs have the same issue as you have in COD.

Other games that might interest instead if you're missing older battlefields before it went COD full shooter direction:
- Hell Let Loose, think BF1942 kind of, only issue is latency to Europe for servers. Suggest going custom servers later, game depends heavily on own squad and doing tactical plays, not gunning and running.
- Squads, if more modern battlefield
 
Yep. We used to get excited to have 140ms ping.

Being at one with the lag made you God Tier player. Ask any GearsHead :)
 
This year will be the 20th anniversary of Battlefield 2 and multiplayer is still possible because of a project called BF2Hub. I'm hosting an unranked local server for the game: https://www.bf2hub.com/server/41.76.107.146:16567/

Another project called Venice Unleashed (https://veniceunleashed.net/project-rome) restores multiplayer functionality for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I'm hosting a ranked local server for it too - you should be able to find it when sorting by lowest ping from the in-game server browser.

There's already been some local player activity and more would be welcomed!

In the weekday normally the Kyberstrike server starts between 10-12:00, Weekends it starts earlier
