Battling ...

Hey guys, I am sure this is dead simple but I really can't remember what to do ...
I have purchased a new 1T HD and have connected the SATA power and signal cable. If I go into the control panel, I can see the drive under my hardware configuration but I do not know how to "mao" it tio be used as my other drives ... i.e cannot see it from My Compuetr or Windows Explorer .... please help

Go to Disk Management and format the drive.

Right click on my computer and go to Manage. In there go to Storage then disk management and find your disk and format the correct one.

... is formatting what is refered to as "Initialize Disk" ?

Those take some hours to format. I usually just do a quick format. Works fine.

If it's a new drive you need not do a "slow" format. A quick format would have been fine. Guess it's too late now

Probably done by now, but you can always push cancel and do the quick format...
