I've recently changed my contact lens cleaning solution to Bausch & Lomb's ReNu MultiPlus (with protein removing substance).

Any of you using the same? How do you use it and is there a specific time limit the lenses must stay in the solution?
If I must follow the instructions given a bottle will not last me more than a week :D I'm sure this is done to create more sales.

I was told that the lenses must stay in the solution for about 8 hours (so when you go to sleep -> until you get up) in order to let it rinse off a bit, and then when you take them out, put a drop of clean solution on and rinse them in the palm of your hands.

You only need a few drops of solution in your container, until the lenses say floats in them - my bottle (maybe 150ml or so) lasts me about 6 months.

I previously used AOCept which noted a 6 hr cleaning period. 8 hrs seems to somewhat impractical meaning not always possible.
Also the ReNu I'm using at present says "no rub"

There's a normal & NO RUB solution

Found the no rub one to be better in terms of lense comfort in eye after overnight in lense case

I often leave it in for much less than 8 hours, since I generally have an 18 hour day... hasn't been a problem. It would obviously depend on how dry your eyes are, and how much protein your eyes leave on the lenses.

Do note though, that if you wish to change the solution, to check with your optometrist as to what you can use - your lenses generally require specific types of solution.

I have always used the ReNu, just put enough to cover the lenses in the container (no need to fill it up) and plop the lenses in. Then take them out when you need to wear them again.
