I've got a family member comming over from Dubai tomorrow and bringing me a BB 8520.Im a first time user , so anxious to see what it will be like.Im a Student so figured the 8520 would be a good BB to start off with.

Will I have any problems bringing the phone over in terms of coverage or lack of use?

It will be on prepaid so could anyone give me advice as to what BIS service provider i should sign up with? Ive read in the forums that there are some really bad speeds with Vodacom and quiet the opposite about MTN or has Vodacom finally resolved this?
Many thanks

You will not have any problems with coverage.

Both vodacom and mtn charge R59pm for bis .

Vodacoms problem is they dont roll out EDGE if they have 3G on a tower.

So your best bet is to go with MTN

Ok thanks sponge only issue now is weighing up having to change my sim to mtn for mtn BIS VS keeping current vodacom sim.
Well ive had a nokia from Dubai before and i had no problems when it came to phoning sms etc but couldnt get onto mxit??(which is irrelevant now as i dont use it anymore) so i take it that if i can phone and sms it wasnt locked.
