Hi Guys,

Is there anyone from MTN that can give me an idea what will happen to my bold if I go to the store in La Lucia.

The problem happened yesterday, my Green Call button is now the letters "jk" So i can't answer a call. the trackball click is "hl". The Red end call is "nm" so I can't end a call. And the "a" button is "uo". And no it hasn't been dropped in water or any liquid. Been in my pocket and very far from any sort of liquid.

I've checked online and there is a problem with this, a few people are having this problem. I want to know if they're going to have to 'send' it away to get fixed, or will they just swop it out for a new unit? I'm currently in Durban on a business trip, and can't really afford to be without email and that now. And I'm only back in JHB in a week's time. I don't want to waste my time, but this is rather frustrating.

They are going to send it away and not be able to fix it, then give you a new one.

You are going to wait 6 weeks for it, and if there isn't stock - you might even wait longer.

6 weeks is the max, but yes you will have to wait and there is no way around that.

I had to wait six weeks for it to be repaired. Then after the six weeks they decided to give me a new one. But I had to wait for stock and that took an additional 2 weeks, so weeks isn't the max.

Ok, well I've sent the darn thing in, and now I just have to wait and see what the outcome is. But is the BB Bold 9000 still in production? Or has that been replaced with the Bold 9700?

I had to wait 3 weeks on MTN for a replacement. And they give you a brand new phone

Well 3 weeks is a lot better than waiting for +6 weeks. But I suppose there's nothing you can really do once they have the phone in their possession, it's all on their time.

I advise you to keep calling them because they don't actually phone you to say that your phone is ready
