OK, I got my BB today. Awesome phone. Does what I need it to do and that is cool but my question is now. What is the downloading limit on it? I have been told in the past there is unlimited downloading of music etc but when I was collecting it this morning, the guy in the shop told me now BB have put a limit on how much you can download as people have been taking advantage etc. What is the story here

Well there is a limit.... and the "punishment" for breaking that limit is you are moved from 3G down to EDGE.
So it won't be a problem for you, as the 8520 only supports EDGE and not 3G :p

dude that is very horrible advice.

I know someone who was billed OOB for downloading music thinking it was free.

no they will not throttle you, they will charge you.

Fine. Let me put it this way then.
There is a limit on on-device browsing subject to the terms and conditions of the BIS service. After this limit has been reached, the connection speed is dropped for the remainder of the month to EDGE.

As to out-of-bundle browsing, refer to the article that MyBB published where Vodacom mentioned what is in/out of bundle. Furthermore refer to limits of attachments, etc.

Vodacom haven't made it formal yet that they throttle BIS speeds for excessive users. From my experience though my download speeds go down towards the end of the month. The guys at Berryfix are good when it comes to such quiries you can catch them on Twitter @berryfix and on Facebook.
