BB Instant message linked to BIS?

Guys,

Downgraded my contract to a weekender with Vodacom and took the black berry. New contract active from 01st October, i got my phone already though as i was due for upgrade. My BIS service will obviously only be active from 01 October, my BB IM is not working, not receiving the invites and the ones i send out are sitting as pending and the receipients haven't received them. Can this be because of the BIS service not being active as yet?

GPRS/EDGE/3G should be in capital letters if BIS is active.

Otherwise just pop over to www.vodacom.co.za, register (if you're not already) and look under My Services > Blackberry to see if it's activated. If not, you can activate it and it should activate within a few minutes (turn phone off and back on just to be on the safe side ). Good luck

Much of the blackberrys core functionality, including BBM, requires BIS.

Yes, BIS must be active
