BB - Notification icon not going away

This is driving me insane.

I have a notification icon on the top of my curve 8900, never seen it before now it wont go away. It looks a bit like the browser globe and its yellow. Possibly its something to do with browser push but I can't see what its notifying me about !!!! I can remember at the time it popped up I was truing to connect to my works OWA via the BB browser. It worked and I exited but the next time I connecte it gave me this notification icon. I saw one other guy at work also has it and his BB is brand new, BIS is not even activated yet.

I don't really care what it is, I just want to get rid of it. I have removed a lot of apps truing to find the culprate and even upgraded my OS to 5... but it still lurks !

Is there anyway I can just clear all notifications ??
 
This might work: open your message app, open any message you have in there like an email or an sms, press menu then select 'next unopened item'.

Is it a yellow globe with a tiny white envelope on the side? If so, its a message with a link & it wants you to download something.

Sounds like it but no white envelope but thanks I just scrolled down in my messaging folder and for some reason I can see the message, its a wap push message from Samsung (*groan) its been there since March !
 
Its a bit irritating that it did not keep a red star on the messaging folder... that might have helped me.

Going to help the noob in our office find his... shame I think he only just figured out the keylock.

The keylock is gone with 5.0.0.592 :(
 
Had the same issue on my 9520, tried a device wipe and that didnt work once I restored data.

Have you ever found yourself in a zone without internet access and then it asks if you would like to save the request? That is what happened to mine. Only got rid of it after a lengthy internet search.... Cant remember how though... sorry, Ill check it out

Exactly. What a nuisance when all I need is the means to stop myself from pocket-dialing the same poor guy 10 times a day!

That puts it into standby. What I want to be able to do is program a side button to lock the keypad but now that feature has been removed.

I see on other sites that some of the BB fanboys consider the removal of the feature as being a feature in itself :eek:
 
I have had this exact issue on my 8900 before. I backed up the phone, did a wipe and then restored. All was working fine after that
 
I have the same icon now :(
its a 1 and an orange globe...
