BB Playbook and internet tethering

Does the Playbook use the BB phone as modem when using Internet Tethering for a bridged phone via BIS or BES?

With just blackberry bridge you can use bbm/email etc and you can browse on "bridge brower". Some apps like facebook aren't bridged though so you can set up a tethered internet connection to use your blackberry for those apps but then you will pay as if you were using your bb and a laptop.
