BB9900 running OS 7.1

7.1 (unofficial) on 9900
running okay but battery is on/off in terms of draining. Somdedays quick, others slow.
have not used the new features yet though...

Got it on 9810. No wi-fi hotspot feature that I can find; maybe Vodacom needs to update service books.

The only visible feature I can see is that the Bridge icon moved over to the right.

I have it aswell, seems fine.
I can't find visual voicemail feature that I had on my 9780, or the hotspot funtion.
Also found out that my old BB charger doesn't charge my 9900, what's up with that?

The device analyser is quite cool, yesterdays trend for poor battery life was hilarious, constant drop from 100% to 0, I was in a meeting for an hour with no use and the battery still continued to drain.

Vodacom does not support mobile hotspot and hence they have a service book that removes the option from the handset.

Had a chat to a consultant and he said they don't even troubleshoot using mobile hotspot on other handsets like the iPhone and Androids because it is not supported by Vodacom. It works a treat on MTN though.

I was a Vodacom subscriber for many years but the state of their BIS forced me elsewhere and having the hotspot feature is just a bonus.

Currently Visiting the US. Was told by vodacom that they will bar all services when roaming even if I'm using WiFi. My wife uses wifi to connect to BIS and she's on MTN. I've purchased an unlimited Tmobile contract while I'm here and I can see the difference immediately. BBM messages are sent and delivered immediately. So is whatsapp. Internet moves at the speed of thought (as it should). When I get back, I'm moving to MTN or America or both. (Forgot to mention, nobody under 35 uses blackberry's anymore...iphone, Android is the way of the future)
