BBM on Android - battery life

So after installing BBM recently on my GS3, my battery life took a huge nosedive. I could no longer get through a day.

The default battery stats didn't point to BBM as the culprit but once uninstalled, battery life went back to normal. My wife is reporting the same.

I know that it is anecdotal but I'm just putting it out there... Have anyone else noticed this?

I've got an S3 mini and I don't have any issues at all. works perfectly.
 
No problem on my GS4. Better Battery Stats and the default battery app don't show BBM at all.
 
S3mini here. Battery life is better after Bbm installed. Must be cause of barely using whatsapp
 
I installed BBM on an S4. First 2 days battery life was reduced by a third. Seems to have settled after that and battery life is almost "normal", it only starts alerting low battery at about 8pm.
 
On my Xperia Z no change after installing BBM.
 
On my Galaxy note 10.1 - yes its possible to install bbm on a tab. - I didnt really notice a difference.

Same phone and same issue, executed a force stop but it was more for the data usage compared to whatsapp.
 
I had the same issue when I intially installed it. Updated it to the latest version, and the battery drain disappeared.
 
No problem here. My S3's battery life is dismal to start off with, never ever lasted a day. Usually by 15h00 it's at 30% :(

Yeah I'm not getting fantastic battery life either.
Today:
Steaming audio 30minutes (listened to a podcast on my way to work)
5 calles
5 SMSes
11 photos
about 10 Whatsapp messages
Browsed a bit.
(about 1h 40 min screen time according to stats).
Currently sitting on 38% (14:41)

IIRC at one stage with BBM on it got to 15% at 14:00.

Happened on my Note 2 as well. Stats did not show BBM using anything at all, but uninstalled as it was the only app I'd installed of late. After the uninstall, battery returned to normal...
