Just a couple of points i'd like to make to tell you about Virgin - i've been with them for over 2 years...

1. Itemised Billing - previously you would opt-in to pay R10 extra for itemised billing each month (by email) - they have now automatically added it on to your account, you have to opt out of itemised billing (by SMS). This is actually illigal, the purchasing of goods and services has to be at the consent and requested by the consumer.

2. Virgin - to - Virgin is not billed accordingly, i.e. my calls (from Virgin) to a ported Virgin phone do not display on the bill as Virgin - to Virgin calls but to another service provider. Reported to Virgin by email but no response.

3. VREWARDS - were removed from accounts some months ago it seems (although part of my orginal agreement, which I signed up for) - i dont know what happened to these.

I will be attempting to contact Virgin to try and sort this stuff out... again...

Um so what that an odd R30 you didnt count on? on a R200 contract does that really make any difference? Ive been with virgin for over a year and have never been happier(and i have used mnt and vodacom previously).

You used to get back R30 for every R200 you spend. Considering one of my bills is R600 on average I was getting back around R90 in airtime (vrewards). I think that helps.

When I get my bill smsd to me its always less than my contract? And I was just on the phone to virgin now and while you wait they advertise v rewards, plus the person said they havent taken them away?

thats weird, vrewards are stil there, you maybe just got bugged

I just hope that Virgin will cancel their deal with Cell-C sooner than later and move to someone else. Not that there are many alternatives to choose from. :(

How about

Virgin takes your money

or

Virgin stoops low to shaft customers

.....it's a slow day.

Re: Be Carefull Virgin Mobile

Hi Friend,

"Be careful what you sign," says Virgin Mobile's People involving a woman, a contract and the hapless Wyclef's repeated attempts to escape. The slogan could also apply to the on-going legal battle between Virgin Mobile's own parent companies. Both of Virgin Mobile's owners (Virgin, via two shareholding companies, and T-Mobile) have filed claims seeking to terminate the joint venture relationship.

The first action was launched by T-Mobile in October 2002, in which it sought a declaration of no fault termination. If successful, this would have entitled either party to buy out the other. Why T-Mobile wants out is not clear: it could be that the economics of the joint venture no longer suit it. The joint venture itself, on the other hand, has just begun to take off. In January this year Virgin Mobile reported its strongest ever yearly performance since its launch in 1999, its first profit and a turnover of £290 million.

Thanks,
