Beards.

Personally I can live with 2 out of 3..

What I can't do is trust a middle-aged man with a full beard. If I can't see you face, I assume you got summin to hide.

:erm: You can see their face (their beard doesn't cover their face, it is part of their face).

What happened to you that you are so untrusting? With a beard should come benevolence and good will.

I've got to agree with Arthur on this one. Did you get beaten up by some bikers or something?

Dudes! Apologies if I came across too strong, it was meant half in jest (as the 2 out of 3 comment was meant to show) but just as many of you like blondes or redheads etc through no fault of your own, beards for me is a bit of a tricky thing.

Most younger guys growing one is ok, shows a bit of manly cockyness. The Jopie Adam types I also like, it says I'm a man and I don't care if you think I have a bear's bottom growing out of my chin I'm gonna do it anyway. Even nerds with only a few patches shows resilience and a desire to strive at least.

It's not like I have an aversion to facial hair, I like sideburns, stubble, goatees etc. With 'staches I'm on the fence, mainly cos some of them just look terrible. I myself have grown one of those artsy tussel-type lower lip extentions on occasion just to **** with people's perceptions, and as far as the rest of the male physique goes I prefer natural, hairy, but (for me anyway) there's a fine line with full beards.

I don't think I have daddy issues, and I've never actually been beaten up or abused/scarred in any way by a middle aged man with or without a full beard. It's just when I see one a little alarm goes off in my head saying .. 'dodgy'!

Thanks. Guess I am a little dodgy...

That said, I've found that South Africans seem to have some weird aversion to beards. I suppose it's our European influence. The Americans seem to be perfectly ok with beards but here people have bad associations with them.

Either way, I don't care. My beard is not for others. It's mine. :)

Um... No...
Was my initial reaction too lol, and if a beard is a must, keep the head shaven. Then I remembered a bloke who comes into my office with a full head of hair and a huge beard and he is very attractive so who knows! :D
