Hey guys,

So I was wondering around the web the other day and came across a website that had the Beats Studio Wireless on special for only R3000.

What I want to know is... Is it worth it since I can get the headphones for more than half the price than usual?

Normally I would never buy beats because they are very overpriced but what about now? I have heard that the new revised versions of beats headphones are better than before but is build quality and sound good or not.

Also if it breaks does anybody know of where I could get it repaired?

ALSO I WOULD LIKE GENUINE ANSWERS. If you hate beats then good for you but I need a honest reply from somebody of a neutral standpoint.

Thanks.

The general consensus is that with Beats you're paying for the name and marketing behind it.

Well presented and decent build quality with mediocre sound.

I've never used any of their products only giving feedback on what I've read and watched online.

If it's the name you're after then sure but I'd rather get a pair of AKG or Sennheisers.

So you say that you would rather buy a pair of AKG headphones like the Y50BT for R3000 over the Beats Studio Wireless for R3000?

Is beats that bad?

Yes I would definitely choose a trusted audio brand over a company that relies on its image to sell products. That's just me and I've never listened to Beats headphones but if I was told to choose on the spot I'd take the AKGs without question.

Okay point taken. I might just have to go to an incredible connection to test the beats out as well as some AKGs.

What if you had to choose between the AKG Y50 and the Bose Sountrue over ear 2.

I'd take the Bose in a heartbeat :D

My daughter loves her Beats - watch out for "too good to be true" prices though - plenty of counterfeitones being passed off as genuine - if it's not from a reputable site or brick and mortar outlet.

I've tested the Harman Kardon, Beats, Bose and Parrot, I'd go in this order:

1 - Bose
2 - Parrot
3 - Harman Kardon
4 - Beats (far behind)

I'm not fond at all of the Beats sound.

I've heard it said that once you go Bose (especially with headphones) nothing else ever compares

Wow, okay. So even if I could get the studio wireless 2.0 headphones for the same price as the Bose soundtrue 2 (normally that model of beats is more than twice as expensive as Bose) then I should go with Bose?

Because I'm not asking about this on a level playing field, which is as most sound comparisons are done.

It is actually a very big American store that was running a sale on the headphones and I managed to get one into my online cart so it's effectively "saved" at that price for me.

BTW: In case you are thinking of using these headphones in a studio, they are actually not suitable for that use. There are some things missing. Their name is due to the marketing department rather than the engineering that went into them.

AKG is one of the best brands for headphones. They are used in recording studios all over the world. Beats, are fashion accessories. They have the highest profit margin of any headphone on the market. Usually the cost to manufacture is 10x less than the price you pay at retail. A ripoff in my opinion.

What american store was this? Maybe a link?
