My old man has had a business for about 30 yrs and was recently told that he now has to have BEE even though he is a one man show and has T/O off under 5 mill. So he goes to see the guy at the board - don't want to say what industry- and this arrogant racist prick says listen whitey if you don't like it then change your job. Yeah right !!
It just shows how clever the ANC have been. They have or are taking away business and land in a way that the Nats could never have dreamed of.
Very intelligent way of doing it. Boil the frog slowly so the frog does not know its being cooked.
Funny thing is when all the whities are gone what will these bastards have? Nothing !!
They will run it like the gvt has run this country - into the ground.

You cannot believe this attitude of this guy. I mean come on he has a one man show, a CC and has been operating for 30 yrs - he is about 62 now. What the **** do they want? The more I live here the more I see that time is against any white person living here. The bottom line is this is a race issue full stop.
 
Been having the same issue. I own a one man business, but because I'm too pale for everyones liking, no one will do business with me. My folks, being ex-Zimbabweans, say this country is going the same way Zimbabwe did 20 years ago.

Booked plane tickets for my parents and myself and will be leaving on 4th September. It'll be sad to say goodbye, but it's the only way.
 
Wrote my english exam - IELTS on the weekend so please god I passed and then we submit the docs to OZ. Once that is approved - bye bye you racist pigs. You can have what is left of this country. When it is burned to the ground please don't cry about it.

But why does he have to be BEE? Does he deal with government?

If yes, and he needs the income, then sell shares to some black/chinese dude, better to make half than nothing and he gets the moola for the shares

I don't see the problem, he is 62, why doesnt he just sell the whole lot to some BEE company and go retire?

I am also a one man show cause I sold any businesses that had staff and I run a few none BEE businesses and when I get contacted by government departments I say sorry I don't deal with you peeps so won't quote you, so we all happy chappys as I don't have to be BEE and they don't have to give me moola.
 
It is in the mining sector, no he does not deal with gvt at all. Why should he sell? He is active and does not want to sell. He loves his job and shouldnt have to do this - it is like the mafia.
 
You are missing the point. Anyway I really don't feel like arguing with anyone who is pro BEE. Just wanted to rant and it is done. There is no difference to them and the Mafia. Same bloody thing.
 
well if he has no dealings with government then he can do what he wants, unless the mining companies he deals with require him to be BEE.

Obviously someone he works with requires it, so he gets a black partner, big deal, better than nothing and hey, once he is BEE he can maybe grow more?

As I said I'm not BEE but if someone came to me and placed a huge order for say R5,000,000 on condition that I was BEE I would grab a black partner no problem.

oh yeh, and as someone said, there are many ways to be BEE

Yeh and we get the point, he doesnt want to be told what to do with his own 1 man show business, but if he has to BEE to stay in business then BEE, it might not be such a bad thing?

Mate, if you dont mind me asking, what industry is your pops in?
 
It has been passed as law in that particular sector. Does not matter about the 5mil. He does not deal with anyone who requires bee however gvt have passed the law that says so. Diamond Industry, but as I said he does not deal with GVT or De Beers or anyone who requires BEE.,
 
My business was doing well, but there was one major flaw - a large percentage of my work was directly with Eishkom.
Towards the end of 1996 Eishkom told me that I need to be BEE compliant by 1997 or they could no longer do business with me - I though FU, retrenched my staff (most of them black) and closed the company.
To meet the BEE requirements I would be forced to take on a partner - F that - I took the risks etc. to start up business and was not prepared to have a partner take profits.

Maybe he could keep selling the business to a new CC (which he owns) each time the deadline draws near.
 
Marine1 has he consulted a lawyer about it?

I agree though I have heard of alot of people losing part of a business that took them years if not decades to make it successful and along comes BEE and robs them of a bit of it. Truth is for the people I have heard about its not about the money, its about having something forcibly removed from you, apart of yourself, your creation. AA and BEE will be the ruin of this country.

I cant see things improving before the whole place becomes like 'Home Affairs' - so much for the external consultants commissioned to straighten out Home Affairs - scam.
 
I myself own a major bus company in Gauteng and work with the Pretoria, Johannesburg and Ekural. councils on a daily basis - those big orange busses you see. I am not 100% BEE but do hire alot of non-white management staff and through my on going out reach project with in the company (a thing im doing because i want to and not forced to) i have now become in a way BEE. I am not prepared to sell off a large portion of my company to another company so i decided to do it some other way.

BTW Marine1 i am sorry about how your pops was treated - i wouldnt leave it at there and make sure something is done about it.
