yes i am getting errors on start up that a driver is corrupted or missing,i checked the net and did everything possible, from restoring the mbr to recoverconsole command prompts.I give up.
the error is \system32\driver\acpi.sys not found or corrupted:(
I tried recovery via the installation disk and all the frills for 2 hours.Changed hardware and checked ide..etc..harddrive is fine to:o

So before i do something stupid what do you suggest:rolleyes:

So you have replaced the file with one which definitely works?
Tried uninstalling all of your drivers (chipset, videocard etc)?

could i just download the .sys file and place it in the sytem32 folder,i did that with xp a hile back and it did work but vista is so full of it i doubt it will work.let me download that driver of the net.

I dont see how you want me to uninstall the drivers when the system wont boot, thats impossible

safe mode dont work to and system restore.fkit

I take it that means both don't work?
If so, you sure know how to break a system :p
Replacing that file is the only option left which I can think of. Maybe somebody else can brainstorm something...

i replaced the file and then another file.sys shows noy present..i had to laugh for that.So i will install vista ultimate on 2 harddrives and copy everything over to the system32 folder.
