Beginners guide to ADSL

Hi

I am wanting to get ADSL but I've got serious information overload trying to figure out exactly what the costs are and what the best options are re telkom package, modem, isp etc. Can someone perhaps post a sticky explaining exactly what options are available and how much does one pay for each. I've tried searching the forum but i'm still like ha ha.

Dude I was exactly like you a month ago. I didn't know what was going on and Telkom's website just confused me some more.

Simple...you must pay a once-off fee :
Installation of ADSL line (R404)
Installation of Home phone line (+- R260)
Purchase a modem (R350 and up)

Per month fees :
ADSL ISP (Varies..R250 from Telkom for 3GB)
Phone line rental (R87 without making 1 phone call)
ADSL Line Rental
