PCI-E only?

Is the 7800GTX only available as a PCI-Express card or is there an AGP version too?
 
I have only seen PCi-X versions so far, they should bring out AGP soon though
 
I don't think they will be supporting AGP still in the next gen. I'm sure the phasing out has stopped now and they won't be releasing new cards in AGP.
 
i dont think so, it takes very long to phase out a bus/port. PCI graphics cards are still used and available today
 
It would be very stupid for NVIDIA to leave out the AGP market - most people forget that this still the bigger market than PCI-E.
 
Yep I'm sure they'll still support AGP this time around. They'll only phase out AGP when they approach the limitations of AGP 8x. My guess is this will be around the time WGF 2.0 (Longhorn compliant) cards are released in 2007.
 
Maybe thelly support agp but i doubt it!
PCI-exp is much faster and the bus can handle can extreme overclocking and the gpu itself!
once i saw a guy whose gpu melted since he only had 2 fans. lol
Most pcs need 3 or more to handle a gpu like that!
btw. i got my graphics card for my 13th bday:)
i nearly faint!
 
with all the **** i have been having today with my radeon I think the next card I will buy will be a Nvidea

Ever since NVIDIA has introduced its 7800 GTX graphics adapter, one of the many questions that users have been asking is if NVIDIA would ever launch an AGP version of the aforementioned card. Well, before we get into the actual information, we covered a report earlier this year that had information from one of the industry insiders who said that NVIDIA and ATI would probably not offer AGP versions of their upcoming product line. In the same report, the insider commented that AGP standard might actually fade away in 2005. Of course, the ones in retail channels would continue to be on retail shelves throughout the year, but the possibility of upcoming cards to support both AGP and PCIe were slim. However, that might change with the information we received recently.

An insider today confirmed that NVIDIA has no plans to offer an AGP version of the 7800 GTX currently, but it all depends on the demand. The reason is not because the 7800 GTX couldn’t be ported over to the AGP standard architecturally, but NVIDIA just doesn’t see the demand anymore. But if users are persuading enough, NVIDIA and its board partners would have no problems offering an AGP counterpart to the PCIe version.

This would also indicate that ATI’s upcoming R520 core would probably be PCIe exclusive as well, and it would most likely not offer an AGP version unless there’s sufficient demand.

I mean if you can afford an expensive card like that, surely you have a top-of-the-line rig with PCI-E as well?
 
if you think about it if people can afford a 7000 rand card surely they can afford a 1500 rand motherboard

I have a feeling they won't make this available on AGP at all. In fact, i think its about time i upgraded my mobo & get a 64 cpu amd b4 upgrading my g/card, i think agp has just about run its course.
What a shame, my trusty asus A7n8X deluxe about to be relegated :(
