Which do you guys think are better?

Behringer TRUTH B2030As

or

KRK Rokit 6s

?

Speakers will be used to make electronic/housey music. I'm thinking the Behringers might provide deeper bass with the 3/4" bigger sub, which would be favourable for this kind of music. I can get both for the same price.

Advice from the intermediates and pros, please. :)

Hi Postman,

Personally, I don't see the point in buying low-end monitors. For less money, you can get stunning in-ear monitors. I just got some Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pros (you can import them for maybe R3400) and they are unreal. They sound as good as a R150 000 sound system. Only get studio monitors if you absolutely have to.

PS, UE also make the Super.fi 5 EB, (Extended Bass) they aren't the Pros, but apparently they have great bass and they are quite a bit cheaper.

Check on Amazon.

This is the worst advice I have ever heard (pun ?) the whole idea behind using monitors is to experience the stereo field in the 'flattest' way possible so that your mixes can travel i.e.: sound as similar as possible on different systems. How the hell do you use 'extended bass' on a set of cans to mix then play that mix back on a real rig and expect to hear the same thing you mixed??

@OP: good choice on the Rokits I have the Rokit 5's and I'm blissfully happy with them, smallish so I can transport them from time to time too :)

Nice. I heard the 5s a while ago and was much impressed. Got the 6s for R4495, what a steal. ;)
