I'm not the handiest person alive. I'm reluctant to even start a job if I know I don't have the tools available to get the job done 
Added to that the fact that our place is pretty damn small so I've got very little place to hoard a nice collection of tools.
Will see what comes up next... I did fit my WUG antenna on the roof, as that didn't take much more than a drill and some funky roof climbing. Didn't get around to fixing a leaky faucet though, as I didn't have any plumber's tape, and didn't have the correct type of tongs (or whatever you call it) to grip the thing.
Often time is my main constraint. I can only get to the shops on weekends, and I work just about every second one. I tend to make use of the time I have for other things as often as possible. If I can't get to the shops, I can't get the parts I need.
