Anyone have experience with Beko products, specifically the ovens. I understand they own Defy so that means probably Defy will service / warranty when there are issues?

Thought I'll go a quick review:

Beko FSE87310GX: 60cm Multifunction Vitroceramic Freestanding Stove / Cooker / Oven

Build Quality
: 7.5/10 , bottom floor drawer looks nasty. Glass top scratch easily. Knobs are plastic and slippery. Overall I would rate it better than a Defy. But pale on comparison to a Bosch or Smeg.

Heating: 8.5/10 Plates and Oven heats up quickly.

Top - Ceramic / Glass top so once it is heated it stays hot for at least 15 minutes after switching off. Top is black and dark and there is no way to tell that a plate is still hot besides a little red light. Would highly NOT recommend if you have kids. However easy to cook on. Even though there are ceramic polish and cleaner, top scratches easily and leaves marks. It's a dark top though so not easily visible depending on angle of light. However , it is there to be used and abused and if you keep it clean who cares.

Oven - is basic but does the job well. It has a timer which switches off the oven once it runs out of time. Can really only do one rack at a time and does not have multiple heating zones. However it is a reasonable size and does what it is supposed to do. Haven't baked any cakes, but all good for my needs. Wife bakes bread and cookies. Taste fine.

Installation: Not plug and play, however 15 minutes for an electrician if all wiring is in place.

So there you go folks. A good budget option for a rental and if you cant install a gas top. Functional.

Be lekker! Be beko!
