The company was founded in 1983 in Hawthorne, California, by Founder and Chairman Chet Pipkin. Belkin is now headquartered in a state of the art facility in Playa Vista, California after moving 18 miles (29 km) west from its previous headquarters in Compton, California in February 2010.
