What do you define friendship/other relationships by?
The amount time you know someone?
The experiences you shared with them?
Your opinion/feelings towards them?
Contact with said person
All of the above?
None of the above?

I`m trying to sort out things in my head

amount of time seems tricky,I`ve known a few people for a few decades now but I wouldn`t call myself "best buddies"
And yet one of my closest mates is someone I`ve known forever(as long as I have lived)

Shared experience seems valid.
It creates memories,feelings,experience.

Contact I mean by how often you see/talk to them.
Does electronic communication make a difference?
Would you consider yourself close mates with someone you`ve never met in person?
What if you BBM/Skype etc with them daily?

On a side note why does my nokia disable vibration while charging? does vibrations affect the charging process?

I think you are overcomplicating it. They are either your friend or they aren't your friend. You can tell without having to analyse all those factors how good of a friend you consider them to be.

Vibrations don't affect the charging process and I have no idea why your Nokia does that.

Perhaps,I like thinking about things...
I dont see it as being black and white, everything is a grey area with different degrees of 'color'

Okay here is tl;dr
What makes the difference between a friend, a great friend, and an enemy.

Lay off the chat rooms bud, you'll get friendzoned before you even meet. If you're bent on doing the online thing, then set up a meeting ASAP before continuing to chat every night.

There is no platonic relationship with someone you chat to every night. You're doing it wrong :wtf:

:wtf: How so?
I see that something is bound to happen eventually, but not nessasarily romantically.
Perhaps a deepening of friendship or drifting apart?

I think you're over simplifying it. True friends are a rare luxury.

I agree,I have 2 friends both of which I`ve known for almost my entire life.
One is generally an #$@ but I can rely on him if I seriously need it.
The other is a pretty cool person, whom I can also rely on.
Coincidentally The time I`ve known them and experiences with them is the measures, which I`m kinda wondering if its a bit foolish on my part.
My benchmark is something only I can decide, but its usually a good idea to check what others think to make sure I dont get FSK@#D over

^This

OT:Which Nokia do you have? Might help to diagnose the issue.
OTT: We seem alike nuke, forever over-thinking and analyzing somethings most people would call simple.. In your line of work it's a good thing, try to down-play it in real life.

Most Nokias do this after the death of that woman who pleasured herself with a charging vibrating phone.
