Has anyone here ever run one?

Not concerned about the fuel price, tyres, brake pads etc.

Just major reliability problems, specifically the W12.

Guys remember the continental has been out for years, if he is worried about maintenance he clearly isn’t buying a newer model. Op didn’t mention year so he could be talking about a 2008 model going for 800K or something. I also don’t doubt that a few people here own or have owned a continental it’s not that “uncommon” . I think he has a valid question.

Assuming OP is not trollin he should consider this. Arguable the cheapest Conti GT in the land.

He should have really been clear which of the 3 generations his actually (supposedly) interested in.

Don't own a Bentley, but do currently own a 2009 DBS. Like with any of these older luxury performance cars, if you keep maintenance up (mine gets checked out every 6 months), it can last a lifetime. BUT when something goes wrong, it goes wrong in a big financial way.
I follow the RRR (Rolls Roys Rule) - if you have to ask the price you cannot afford it.

A silly “rule” that poor people think rich people follow.

Thanks for the input.

It goes beyond that though - you may be able to pay for stuff that goes wrong but might not want to do so. At that point the pleasure of owning such a beast deteriorates somewhat.

Hope this post doesn't make the angry oom wet his pants again.

Agreed, that is why preventative maintenance is a big thing on these types of cars. I have had a few minor issues identified during my 6 monthly service that could have escalated into something much bigger and much more problematic.

The issue over here is the annual MOT. Car can be running perfectly but you get a list of pending issues to fix.

This is what concerns me, I have loved the GT for some time and don't mind dropping money on it, as long as it's reasonable money.

O yeah, I know the Brits can be the pits when it comes to regulations  Maybe there is a Bentley independent mechanic, or club, that can offer advise on that? Getting those minor things sorted can run up a big tab quickly.

Know how you feel about the Bentley, feel the same about the DBS (which looks just like the Bond one in Casino Royale - yes I know I am a child, but dammm...). Last thing I would want is problems souring my child like enthusiasm.

Only Bentley I ever considered though was the 2008/9 Brooklands Coupe, or the Azure T. If I saw one of those today for sale, my wife would have to lock me in the basement for a year.

What sort of mileage are you doing on an annual basis?
