I was told i am going to be getting my modem this morning between the hours of 9:30 and 11:30, I had to stick around the house due to the fact that they cant call me to tell me they are comming as they want to cut down on costs. It is now 2:03PM and still no word, i have lost out on a days work. I have called them and Berco Express and back to Sentech and Fastcom, and all i hear from Berco is that their pc's are down and they have to wait to get them back up so that they may find the waybill. This is crap, they are pathetic and I pray to god all mighty that they get another courier service soon for the sake of everyone. Who can I call guys to get this resolved? Someone who is willing to help, please guys![xx(]

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

you don't want your modem yet, unless you like big dissapointments !!!

They also wasted a whole afternoon and morning for me.
They were supposed to arrive at 2pm on a Thursday.
I called them at 3pm and they said they couldn't make it today, but they'll be there at 10am Friday
They finally arrived 1pm Friday, with the lamest excuse.

They thought I said "Trudy Road" and not "Judy Road"
Well, when I consider that on my contract it said Judy Road and on the waybill that the driver made me sign also said "Judy Road" I'd have to conclude that someone was telling Porky Pies.

Well - that's the standard South African service that we're all so used to getting eh ? [;)]

Just do what i did when they called to say they could'nt come that day, Call Clinton Smith @ Sentech (Call thier jhb office) and tell him what the problem is, Ask him if you can rather go and collect your package from Jerk-o yourself, and tell him to arrange this with the warehouse manager at Jerk-o. Then admit defeat by forfeiting your R70 "delivery" fee and go and pick up the modem from Jerk-o head office @ Linbro Office park (if you're in JHB). I went to fetch mine at 16:45 on a workday, arrived after breaking nearly every rule of the road, only to have them tell me that dispatch is open 24 hours.

If you do this, dont forget to take your ID book, Contract and other stuff with you (although they only wanted my ID book) just in case.

I had excellent service from Berco. They delivered it at 8:10 in the morning, and called to arrange a time.

I guess you can't keep everyone happy all the time.

woah! Borris. I'm sure Clinton wouldn't like seeing his (personal) phone number all over the boards?! :)

i went and picked up my modem as well... threw a bit of a fit 'cos I didn't have my contract there, but they were nice enough to let me fax it through when I got back to the office. I had my ID there... luckily...

I haven't lost my mind... It's backed up on disk somewhere...

i just know that i would be peeved - maybe he doesn't mind. [:)]

hmm.. why sentech does not choose DHL or FedEX as their courier.

maybe cost problem or there is a connection with berco?!?

dunno if i should visit linbro park to fetch my modem or wait for the 'express service'.

3 reasons.

1. Price
2. Price
3. Price

They should use Speed Services. They're AWESOME and the charge R27 for a 1kg bag which is more than enough for the modem. I've never had any issues with Speed Services, and they deliver overnight
