Which ISP is the most reliable when it comes to Latency for gaming and which specific account is ideal for gaming ?

Generally any capped account will be best for gaming, I game on a Webafrica 100GB/1TB account. Get brilliantly consistent latency.

And when you run out of Cap?

+1 to the CrystalWeb offering.

Added bonus with CW is that if you do experience gaming latency (or in fact any latency related issue), they will investigate the root (route) cause all the way back to the point of Origin (all puns intended) and provide you with a proper explanation, workaround or fix (whichever is applicable).

What about mobile isp's like 3g or dare I say it IBurst

Is there any isp that compares well to any of the fixed line providers, if you don't have a phone line.

No. Stupid question. 3G and iBurst are shyt for gaming.

A wisp is a different story, something like bitco or similar is the way to go.

+1 for CW.

Stay away from MWEB, who typically point fingers everywhere but themselves when the proverbial hits the fan.

My Mweb account works flawlessly for gaming (far better than the Afrihost account I used to have). So I guess your experience might vary. I would suggest getting the ADSL line & test accounts from the various ISP's.

+2 for CrystalWeb.

No issues. Low ping. Always.

Expected it to get slightly worse when moving from capped to premium uncapped but nothing changed at all.

Axxess/Afrihost is also good if you want to save a bit of money and ok with the occasional glitch and sometimes slow downloads.

VOX - No. Ping all over the place. In my opinion stable ping is more important than low ping. Rather 100ms all the time than 50ms that spike up to 200ms every now and then.

I have recently started experiencing this. Its INSANELY frustrating. Locally its less noticeable, but on international games you feel it instantly. And it happens quite frequently. This is over 100mbit fibre, so line latency/quality has got nothing to do with it.

There is definitely problems on the Vox network as p2p has also been very slow and intermittent recently.
