Just get 384 from mweb. I'd rather spend the extra 50bucks and get 1meg though.

Including analogue line rental?

Analogue line = ~R140
384kbps line = R152
384k package from Mweb = R199

Total is R491. The MWeb package is actually 1mbps (they don't offer 1mbps data only) so if you upgrade the line and pay an extra R137, you'll get a better deal otherwise you're paying for 1mbps but not using it.

Damn now I don't know anymore. I've read some reviews on the WA thread and it seems that they have very mixed feedback. Some love them, others hate them... Pricewise they obviously take the trophy, but I'd rather pay R5 for a chocolate bar than R2 for a turd...

So I remain unconvinced. IT seems that as far as dependability goes, Mweb is the weapon of choice...

Both offer trial accounts so i suggest getting in contact with the REPs here and trying both out and then makeup your mind.

Afaik MWEB are having some issues regarding torrents (by this i mean alot of complaints) but this is due to a capacity issue (atleast from what i can make out). An upgrade should be in the works ;-)

So take both for a spin for as long as they offer and make your decision then. :)

Here i made it easy for ye, WEBAfrica trial signup & PM MWEB Guy

Yes, but for only one month. I plan to subscribe for longer than that.

That's like having a model girlfriend for a month, and then switching to a 6ft nigerian cellmate for the rest of eternity...

It's only for prospective clients like you to test it for the rest of the month.

Afrihost is not a good uncapped provider, capped products yes.

Afrihost uncapped is not bad. The only thing that's restrictive now is torrents during business hours mon/fri. I'm still happy with my 4meg line. For the price range of the OP I suppose you should go with the 1meg though.

That is so funny and true .but what he meant is you can try the one meg offerring this month and see if it's worth the extra 50 bucks.

For R500 per month, you will get:

- 384kbps ADSL Line + Account
- Voice Line rental

There are other costs such as a modem, which can cost an additional R400 or so. If you already have a voice line and you want R500 for ADSL Only (without voice line cost added), then 1mbps adsl line + account will be suited.
